According
to PCAAdvisor, there are 4 tips to block a website
1. To block sites within a browser. Blocking sites is can be done using a ‘black list’ within
either a web browser. It can block addresses that can be used to access the
site.
2. Through Parental Control Software. This software needs to be installed to perform web filtering, It
includes regularly maintained list of inappropriate websites that are blocked. The
software has other functions as well as limiting the amount of time a user can
spend.
3. Through opening a DNS - free website blocking software. By
changing settings in the router, you can limit the website. The router will use
your ISP’s web filtering but administrator can choose to use OpenDNS instead. This
is a free service which filters out inappropriate sites. This is done by
changing settings in the router’s web interface.
4. Blocking a website can also be done in tablets and
smartphones. For those with Windows Phone 8, then administrator can use the Kid’s
Corner feature to restrict access to the web.
