Different Web Browsers


There are various web browsers that we can choose from :)


1. Internet Explorer

According to Sciene.Opposingviews.Com, Internet Explorer was developed first. The developer is Mircorsoft and was initially released on 16 august 1985. Its strength is on Content Management System (CMS) compatibility which user can easily create a web page. However, it is supported only by Windows, as there is no download manager. Layout engine is Triident and default search engine is Bing.


2. Mozilla Firefox


According to Sciene.Opposingviews.Com, Mozilla Firefox  is the first to greatly challenge Internet Explorer and was the first to exhibit “tabbed” browsing. As such, user is now allowed to open two or more internet sites open. Further, it has built-in pop up blocker which gives comfort to users on privacy. Other tham security, its advantage is its speed and array of features and extensions.  However, Firefox could not read CMS properly. It was developed by Mozilla Corporation and was initially released on 9 November 2004. Layout engine is Gecko and default search engine is Google.

3. Google Chrome

According to Software Insider.com, Chrome was developed by Google and was first released on 2 September 2008. This is available on Linux, Mac, Windows operating systems, including iOS and Android. It is said to be the first in the US web browsing at 32.5 percent market share.

4. Safari


According to Software Insider.com, Safari was developed by Apple Inc., and was first released on 7 January 2003. This is popular especially for Iphone users. This is available on Mac operating systems, plus iOS and Android. It is said to be 3rd in rank in terms of US web browsing market share.

5. Opera

According to Software Insider.com, the Opera was developed by Opera Software, and was first released in September 1996. This is available on Linux, Mac, and Windows operating systems, plus iOS, Android, and Windows Mobile for mobile devices. This browser ranks 5th  in the US Web Browsing market share.
